Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function properly, remember your preferences, and provide analytics data.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function. They include:

  • session — Authentication session token. Expires when you log out or after 30 days.
  • csrf_token — Cross-site request forgery protection. Session-based.
  • cboe_tracking_consent — Remembers your cookie-consent choice so the banner does not re-prompt. Stored as a first-party cookie and in browser localStorage. Persistent (up to 1 year).

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality:

  • cboe_variant — Landing page A/B test variant (sessionStorage). Session-based.
  • cboe_ref — Referral code tracking (localStorage). Persistent.
  • theme — Light/dark mode preference. Persistent.

Analytics Cookies

We use analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website:

  • _ga, _ga_<container-id> — Google Analytics 4 cookies used to distinguish unique visitors and persist session state. The _ga_<container-id> cookie is set per GA4 measurement ID; the specific suffix in production may change if the GA property is rotated. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • visitor_id — Internal visitor tracking for funnel analytics. 30-day expiry.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Third-party services may set their own cookies:

  • Stripe: Payment processing and fraud detection
  • Google: OAuth authentication and analytics

4. Cookie Consent

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner appears and remains until you make a choice. The banner offers three options: Accept All, Decline All, or Manage Preferences. The Manage Preferences view exposes per-category toggles for non-essential cookies — currently Analytics and Marketing — each of which you can enable or disable independently before saving. Essential cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled (see Section 2 — Essential Cookies).

Your choice is stored on your device (in a first-party cookie and browser localStorage, both under the key cboe_tracking_consent) so that the banner does not re-prompt on subsequent visits using the same browser. If you clear site data (including cookies), switch browsers, or switch devices, you will be prompted again. You can update your preferences at any time by clicking "Manage Cookies" in the footer; the same per-category controls are shown.

EU/UK/Swiss visitors. The Service is U.S.-based and is not directed to the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland (see Privacy Policy, Section 11). To the extent the ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, or UK GDPR applies to a visitor's session because that visitor reached our website from those jurisdictions, non-essential cookies are not set until the visitor affirmatively accepts (either via "Accept All" or by enabling the relevant category in Manage Preferences). "Decline All" prevents non-essential cookies from being set; this includes Google Analytics 4. Withdrawing consent is as easy as granting it — open "Manage Cookies" in the footer at any time and toggle the categories off, then save.

California (CCPA/CPRA) visitors. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Manage Preferences controls also serve as the opt-out mechanism required by Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.135 in the event our practices change. We honor browser-level Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where technically feasible.

5. Managing Cookies via Browser

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete existing cookies
  • Block cookies from specific or all websites
  • Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies

Note: Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging into the Service.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
